With a short introductory presentation by urban planning student Emma Ragnhof on:
• That for a long time, there has been a large proportion of Greenlandic young people who are ambivalent about where to live, and have a pronounced feeling that they have to compromise, no matter what they choose.
• That the wishes of this group of young people, who have either moved or are considering moving, are the demographics that it is most important for urban planners to listen to.
• That even the smaller towns can meet many of the wishes if they prioritize it (it is not only Nuuk that has potential - the smaller towns have some special qualities that Nuuk has difficulty competing with).
• That Greenlandic cities can be developed according to an ideal of "cities for people", where quality of life, everyday life, the feeling that "something is happening" are at the center, and that it can be a sustainable strategy for business development and growth.
• That there is a need from moving away from the target parameters...
o On attracting newcomers to retain those who already live in the city;
o Higher population, to lower number of annual moves;
o Expert-driven business development with a focus on primary business, to citizen-driven business development with a focus on secondary and tertiary business.
• That young people who move or have moved in connection with education are at risk of being stigmatized in Greenlandic cities as "Danishized" where their wishes are set aside as "luxury problems", which means that they are in danger of being systematically ignored in the debate about the development of the cities.

The dialogue touches on topics of identity, shame, hope, and concrete dreams, and what we can do.

The event is free of charge and does not require any registration.
